About Us
Bridging innovation and agriculture for sustainable development
Who Are We?
BridgeThink is a diverse team of six young innovators from five African countries, working to combat climate change and food insecurity in the Maasai Community Oloitoktok Kenya.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to help the Maasai community in Oloitoktok adapt to climate change by blending local knowledge with climate-smart farming, education, and access to resilient tools.
Problem Statement
According to the FAO (2021) and NDMA (2023), climate change in Oloitoktok has led to prolonged droughts and frequent crop failures, causing food insecurity and economic instability in a community largely dependent on farming and livestock.
Solution
We empower smallholder farmers with real-time weather updates in their local language and hands-on training in climate-smart farming. By supplying drought-resistant seeds, we help them boost yields, adapt to climate change, and secure their livelihoods.
Prototype
Our prototype is a USSD-based app delivering real-time weather updates in Maa and Swahili. It also features an Emergency Response Line, giving farmers quick access to advice and farming tips when they need it most.
